I am just back from Teche Plein Air competition in New Iberia, Louisiana...A total of 3,489 miles driven, 15 paintings completed, dozens of friendships renewed, new ones formed and so much Cajun food consumed...
Just before the trip I jaunted up to Grafton Vermont to paint some snow (and just in time before the big thaw). A lot of traveling that gathered great reference photos amid some inclement weather and one 6x8 GEM of a plein air painting painted plein air at The public boat access along the Connecticut River known as Ashley Ferry in Claremont.

My trip to Vermont was cut just a tad short on March 2nd as I had to depart early to receive a 3rd place award for the painting "On the edge of the squall" from Juror Paul Bebee and the Lyme Art Association, in the exhibition "Weather or not". that marked my 200th Award since I started keeping track in 1994.

On March 5th, I departed for Louisiana with overnights in Waynesville, NC (Thank you Patricia Sweet & Clay), Irondale, AL (Thank you Dana B.) and finally arriving at the host housing for Teche Plein Air in New Iberia, LA (thank you Paul A.) where i roomed for the week with Award winning artists Craig Reynolds & Phil Sandusky. The event was great. I created 14 paintings, 4 were
